Christmas Night

Every year on Christmas there is always a dance at Watterson we go to. This year it was really packed, but we had a blast!

Christmas 2010

As always we are very busy during Christmas. There are lots of families to go see and spend the holidays with. This year on Christmas Eve we were at my parent's house. On Christmas day, Brant actually had to work but I made a trip to Brenham to see Brant's dad and step mom. Then it was off to Houston to see Michelle and my nieces. Finally on Sunday, Brant and I were back in Brenham to see his grandparents and the rest of the family.

This year Jason received a hard hat for Christmas since he currently has 5 staples in his head from a nail gun falling on it. Brant and I thought is was a good joke. Zach, our nephew, also received the cutest backpack for daycare. It was very fitting, since his first word was backpack. He's very smart. All in all it was a tiring weekend and I'm very thankful I have the next week off!

Merry Christmas!

Brant and I would like to say Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone!

Christmas at the Fire Station

We had Christmas at the fire station the weekend before Christmas. Everyone's family and children come out to eat open presents and ride in the fire trucks.

Santa was even able to stop by and hand out presents for the kids.

I think Ally is looking forward to Movember next year.

We also have a white elephant exchange, and as you can tell some of the gifts are really inappropriate.

Scooter's

A couple of weekends ago we went out to celebrate a friend's birthday. Here are some pictures from that night.

Christmas Party

This past Saturday was my Christmas party for work. Brant was home from his hunting trip in time to go. After the party, we went out downtown for a few drinks with my friend Elizabeth and her boyfriend Mark.

Elizabeth and I work together and she is the one I always vent to about Brant's adventures and bad luck. Needless to say she gets an ear full.

Jason's Deer

While Brant was on his hunting trip, my brother also shot a deer.

I don't know about you but I think this is a trophy buck. Just kidding!

Another Disasterous Trip

Each year, Brant and few guys from the fire station go up to North Texas to go hunting. They were gone about a week, and everyone was fortunate enough to shoot a deer this year.

But as fate would have it, the trip home was not so lucky. Of course I was at work when I received a phone call from Brant that they had to put out a small fire. The fire of course started in our trailer, and soon spread to the cabinets, and all the hunting gear.

Luckily no one was hurt and the fire was put out as soon as possible with only minor damages. I am beginning to think I cursed myself by saying our life can be a little chaotic at times. It's actually always chaotic, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Brant's just not allowed to go on any more trips this year!

Christmas Tree Time

I was very productive during the Thanksgiving break, and actually put up our Christmas trees. Each year I try to enlist the help of Brant, but of course he's the grinch and doesn't think we need a tree. Anyways, I just wanted to show off my efforts.

Movember's Over!

I am happy to say that Movember is over, and Brant has shaved his face! Of course I took a picture though so you could see his month old moustache. I'm actually embarrassed to show this picture. Some how during the month of not shaving the sideburns got connected to the moustache. That was not my idea.

A Proper Send Off

Last weekend was the last weekend in Texas for a friend of ours; so we deicded to take her out one last time. Jenay is currently serving in the army and will be stationed in Georgia. We will miss her dearly, and hopefully she can come home to visit soon.

Freedom!

Well after two weeks of waiting, I finally have my car back! I can actually go somewhere without borrowing a vehicle or someone picking me up. I'm so excited! For those of you who don't know how I came to be without my car, I hit a deer on my way home one night and it completely messed up the front end of my car. Luckily, I can work from home, but I gets really depressing when you stop working and you can't go anywhere. Since I had a brain fart and didn't take any pictures of my damaged car, I'll post a picture of my deer that I shot last year in Ozona. I'm quite proud of it actually because I now have the record in our household of the biggest buck. HaHa!

Opening Weekend

Well, it's that time of the year again. Last weekend was opening weekend of deer season, and every year we always go hunting and camping in the Sam Houston National Forest. Several of Brant's family members also attend too. This year Brant shot a spike, although if you ask Lacey it's was a reindeer.

Trip to the Dunes

Every year Brant and a few guys from the fire station go out to the West Texas dunes and ride motorcycles, four wheelers and what ever else they can crash. This trip didn't start out so well though. After a few blow outs, new tires and 10 hours they finally made it in time to set up camp and cook dinner. The next day didn't prove to be any better as the transmission in my dad's dune buggy went out. Surprisingly, Brant took some pictures though.

Of course the trouble didn't stop there. The next day Brant decided to have a brush with death between a motorcycle and a dune buggy. The dune buggy won and Brant was obviously on the motorcycle. Apparently there was a collision and some how the motorcycle was wrecked and some toes were broken. WHY ME! Brant is ok, but the trip home was long.

His foot's a little more purple today.

Movember

Since I participated in the Stiletto Stampede, I guess it's only fair to let Brant participate in Movember, although I'm not too trilled about it. For those of you who don't know what Movember is, it is a moustache growing charity event held each November to raise funds and awareness for men's health. Crazy! I know. Brant was a little jealous that women raise funds and awareness the whole month of October for breast cancer, so when he and a few guys at the fire station heard about this, they decided to grow moustaches. Here is a picture of Brant with his fresh stubble. I'll also take another picture at the end of the month or whenever he decides to shave. We have a bet going and I don't think he'll make it to the end of the month.

Keep in mind this isn't the best picture either. He was a little tired from his trip to the dunes. (Next Blog)

Halloween 2010

This past weekend Brant, Jason, Kaysi, T and I celebrated Halloween at a local bar. There was just a small crowd, but we had a lot of fun. There was even some risky business!

T was the only one in the holiday spirit. She was dressed as Tom Cruise in Risky Business.

Are these two kids brother and sister?

Well I'd have to say we had a great time! As always, you never know what's going to happen by the end of the night.

Happy Birthday Jason!

I'd like to say Happy Birthday to my little brother Jason. No matter how old he gets he'll always be my little brother.

A Night Out

These past two weeks at work have been really busy for me, and I know next week is going to be really bad too, so I just needed to get out and have dinner and drinks with some friends. It was really what I needed and I had a good time!

Waketoberfest 2010

Last weekend we went camping out at Lake Travis to attend Waketoberfest. We have gone the last couple of years now and it is getting bigger and bigger. We just enjoy the camping and being at the lake part, but it's nice to have lots of people to party with too. It never fails though, every year the wind picks up and the water gets really rough for the competition.

And now I'd like to show you the many faces of Kaysi.

She's so funny!
