Beach Party!

Every July several people from Bastrop get together and take a trip down to Port Aransas. This past weekend Brant and I, along with our friends, were fortunate enough to enjoy a weekend of sun, sand, water and the bars. We left Friday after lunch and got to the beach around four. We set up the travel trailer, ate some dinner and then went to Bernies, a local bar.

On Saturday, we spent the day at the beach.

I'm glad to know my husband isn't the only guy who makes silly faces in pictures! Once we had enough of the beach we went home, cleaned up and went out again. We started the night off at Bernies and then ended up at Salty Dog and later Sharkys.

I'm not really sure what's going on in this picture. I think I was singing! Of course Brant has to be silly too.

It was a great weekend! Not only do we get to see great friends, but this trip is also where Brant proposed four years ago. Hopefully we have a chance to come back every year.

Yup! I married that guy.

Lake Austin

We finished out our week of camping by inviting some friends to camp with us on Saturday. It was a nice sunny day and the weather was perfect for a BBQ as well.

We have really enjoyed our camper and our next stop is Port Aransas this coming weekend. I can't wait !!!

Aquapalooza!

This past weekend Brant and I were at Lake Travis for Aquapalooza. This was the first year this event has been in Texas, so we gathered up a bunch of friends and decided to make it a camping/lake weekend. I believe the news stations said there were about 50,000 people who attended, and I believe it. It reminded me of Chilifest, but on the water. It was so much fun!

Now Brant and I have moved the travel trailer and will be camping at Lake Austin for the next week. I'm lucky I didn't have to take off work because I just work 10 minutes away. That also means I can sleep in because I won't have to drive an hour to work!

A Night Out

The best thing about holiday weekends is that all your friends who have moved away come back to town and want to party! Last night we went downtown to a bar called Rebels. It was our first time there and Brant and I had a blast.
